The Upani in Diani holiday home is a hidden gem, tucked away at the end of a quiet dead end street, only a short walk to Diani beach (near the Lantana resort hotel). Walled for security and privacy (with a security guard at night) it has very well kept lush tropical gardens and is beautifully furnished by owners who have good taste and a sense of relaxed living- lovely outdoors areas for relaxing overlooking the large pool and garden. The staff are excellent. Gideon the Chef prepared us great meals, breakfast, lunch and dinner, and went with us the the local supermarket and the fish market at Ukunda to get fresh seafood, at local (not tourist) prices.

We really enjoyed our vacation. The place is clean, the home cosy, staff friendly and the chef is on point. I loved that it has a pool. Some people literally spent the whole vacation in the pool. For groups looking for a holiday home, this is very ideal. I Look forward to coming again.

To say that Upani holiday home met our expectations would be a big understatement. It was exactly what we had hoped it would be and much more... We were pleasantly surprised to find out that the place looked as well as it looked on the pictures, we were treated to some of the best meals we have ever eaten. I could go on and on. This place is really beautiful, has incredible staff and is very well taken care of.

The extraordinary serene setting at Upani is a welcome relief from hustle and bustle of the Mombasa Island. The villa is a fusion of Swahili and contemporary architecture with an idllyic garden and swimming pool and well appointed rooms.The staff are helpful and go out of the way to make guests comfortable. It is also less than 10 minute walk to the renowned white sandy beaches of Diani. A great place to spend time with family.

Upani has two cottage houses and two separate rooms that fit all 15 of us comfortably. The house is beautifully furnished with cosy couches, day beds and a swing set in the outdoor living room. I enjoyed my room which was cleaned daily and the beautiful and relaxing African decor that adorned the spaces. There was also hot showers at all times and the food by Chef Alex was excellent always. The best part of my vacation was the early morning walks with my family at 5.30am, the warm and friendly swimming pool and for the children building sand castles everyday was their highlight. In the evenings the breeze was cool, and we sat in the garden overlooking the swimming pool for hours enjoying the beautiful solar powered lighting . We had a wonderful time and were sad to leave..It surely felt like home away from home!!

This is a fantastic place in Diani.. It has a mature garden (I'm a nature lover), great swimming pool, lovely rooms... And all this is 5mins walk from the beach... need I say more... We traveled with our 3 energetic children and they had enough room to ruff and tumble. The garden, cat and tortoise can never forget my kids..Upani has friendly staff, who are always on hand to help. It was worth the drive down from Nairobi ... We won't forget you Upani.. "We'll be Back"

Picture a hot sunny day, lying beside an azure blue pool sipping on an umbrella drink. Well I spent the Christmas vacation at Upani in Diani with my large extended family and loved the relaxed atmosphere, comfortable and airy accommodations, delicious meals and the proximity to a gorgeous and seemingly infinite white sandy beach. Looking forward to going back soon.

We could not recommend Upani Cottage more highly. We had a heavenly week there on our honeymoon and were made to feel so welcome by all off the staff. The cottage is spacious and very comfortable and the pool and grounds are wonderful. We spent lots of time on the beach, which is very close, and were able to get to Diani centre very easily every day on a tuk tuk for around 2 USD. We loved it, we could have stayed forever. Also, there was an adorable tabby kitten from a neighbouring garden who brightened our days with his affection. ·

We had a wonderful time staying at Jackie and William's place. The staff were wonderful, friendly, and very helpful and the property was just beautiful, right next to the beach. Thank you, we hope to make it back!

Der Aufenthalt in der gemütlichen kleinen Villa von William und Jackie war wirklich ein wunderschönes Erlebnis. Alles war super organisiert (von der super sympatischen property Managerin Winnie : ) Flughafentransfer, Ausflüge zum Marinepark, bis hin zum privaten Chefkoch auf Wunsch. Die beiden Häuser stehen in einem idyllischen großen Garten voller Bäume, Palmen und großen Pflanzen. Mann kann hier absolut relaxen und hat völlige Privatsphäre, wie in seinem eigenen kleinen Häuschen. Das Grundstück liegt sehr schön in ruhiger Umgebung und zum Strand (mit Strandbar und Restaurant Bidi Badu ) sind es nur ca 300m. Wenn man Lust hat andere Plätze zu erkunden gibt es einen Tuc Tuc Fahrer namens Wesley, der einen zu jeder Tages und Nacht Zeit sicher überall hin bringt. Für Jemand, der ein ruhiges gemütliches Zuhause etwas abseits vom touristischen Hotelanlagen sucht und für den direkter Meerblick kein absolutes Muss ist, sind die Upani Cottages genau die richtige Wahl! Upani home was truly a homecoming. The house manager Winnie was so warm hearted and welcomed us like family. We had food ordered from the market for the chef to prepare our meals (meals were wonderful). The Galu beach was a short walk away--less than a minute. After the beach we had a nice swim in the pool. At night we watched movies and there were so many to choose from on the digital box upstairs in the lodge. There were two balcony swings for sitting outside which was such a nice bonus to this already beautiful home. I wish I had planned the length of our stay here. I cannot wait to return on my next visit back to Diani beach!

This is the perfect oasis to call your own. From the moment we were greeted by Jenna, Rose and Caroline we instantly relaxed and settled into the comfortable rooms, large veranda and beautiful garden maintained by Joseph. Even though the pictures are amazing, in real life Upani is even more beautiful. The carers are wonderful. They couldn't be more accommodating, helpful and friendly. The house is cleaned everyday and so it always feels as if you just arrived. The beds are so comfortable and both rooms well fitted with mosquitos nets on doors and beds. A cook can be organised to extend the holiday feel. And it is only a 3 min walk from the beach, so with the private pool you have the best of both worlds. We would absolutely stay there again. Tomorrow if we could. :) Thank-you all so much for the most wonderful holiday ever.
